The existing, while needing an update, is truly beautiful and a design to behold; we often used that north lower area.

Remember this is in Edmonton and the PC/UCP have always hated Edmonton. If they could they would move the capital to Calgary in a heartbeat. I am sure the results of any improvements to the legislature grounds will be laughable. Because they don’t care. But if this was Calgary…

Maybe I am nostalgic, but for me THAT is beautiful, playful, inviting and reflective.

I like it too. So maybe just more of a restoration of that with a few added features or art somewhere?

When was the last time that front pool with the stepping stones was activated?

This is a purposeful design as it is -- elegant, attractive to people, and at an aesthetic zenith -- leave it alone!!!

Agreed. What is there is awesome. Give it a refresh where things are old or wearing down. But don’t add a bunch of cheesy art pieces. The plaza above I really like too, let’s keep the classy vibes in this area.

I agree. The area is quite nice, just the concrete is a FN mess and has been for a few years now. We don't need to add big billboard of colour.

^^^^^just had a peek at the 3 proposed options. oh man, how bad! gigantic thumbs down. I remember when my kids were little this was one of their favourite places to go when the temperature was high: perfect scale for little ones to splash around and explore.

What it excludes is the really fantastic mock legislature/classroom/learning centre that was built down there.

Which has now been moved to the Federal building I believe.
I wish the could do something in that whole pedway again.
