Many parts of City website are 'off limits".
Certainly seems a bit sloppy :->I ran into the same thing, probed a bit........it IS an expired security certificate.
I will never understand why IT doesn't have reminders set up..............sigh.
As someone who has some direct experience with this, the answer is usually that reminders *were* set up at one point, but they are configured to go to the wrong person (who may not even be an employee anymore), or they were once set up to go to a distribution list that has since been renamed, or there are reminders going out but they're being caught by overzealous spam filtering, etc...I will never understand why IT doesn't have reminders set up..............sigh.
Toronto Star has an update on the Don Valley West by-election. As I had expected, it appears to be a race between Anthony Furey and local TDSB trustee Rachel Chernos Lin.
The article mentions concerns from Chernos Lin's camp, which includes Kathleen Wynne and her spouse, that there could be vote splitting on the left, which would allow Furey to win.
I would be stunned if Chernos Lin was able to claim John Tory's endorsement. The only time he's endorsed a left-of-centre politician (to my knowledge) was Joe Mihevc in 2018, which was more of a strategic/petty move to try and defeat his council antagonist Josh Matlow.

‘I’ve never seen anything like it’: The behind-the-scenes attempts to unite against the right in a Toronto byelection
Kathleen Wynne and John Tory are two of the big names involved in the attempts to head off vote splitting among three progressive candidates.www.thestar.com
I must admit that announcing your candidacy from your mother's Twitter account is a bit odd.
Though it *could* alleviate some of the fears of a split "left vote" electing Anthony Furey (at least among those for whom Jaye was a "right vote"--or presumably as a viable option for JayeCons not completely on-board w/Furey)I'll go a bit further and say 'in poor taste'.
I like how some countries handle school lunches, like Japan.I'd be down for the school system providing lunches. One of the frustrating things about parenting is agonizing daily over what to pack for a child's lunch, followed by the physical prep, only to see 85% of it come back un-eaten and having to be binned. Such a waste of perfectly good food and money!

If it is going to be the US approach of providing hyperpalatable, ultraprocessed foods like pizza, tater tots, etc. I think we'd be better off with parents providing lunches as at least some kids would get healthy food.
