Apparently Bradford was inside fighting against the shelter proposals.

He was, though he wasn't needed for his own weird lost cause until the deputants were done, so he could have shown his face if he was so inclined.

I really don't get why Bradford wants to be part of this crowd. He never used to be like them!

I don't really get the shift either. He was never a lefty as such, but when he ran the first time, he was overtly a cyclist, and pro-Danforth bike lane, he was also in favour of planning reform and a few other causes, and otherwise would have appeared
centrist to most, except for, amusingly, a low tolerance for performative BS.

Since then, he's bordering on if not outright hostile to cycling, his constituency service has toileted, he's deeply unpopular in his own ward (I don't think he could politically survive a serious challenger), and he has aligned himself not even with the right-centre, but w/Holiday, Crisanti and others on the fringes, and engages in no end of performative BS, relegating himself to mere gadfly.

I assume he has backers who are telling him there is some type of longer term benefit to be had.... Its otherwise difficult to understand.

Yep, I believe Bradford does have influential backers and will make a run at the job of Mayor.

And yes, he’s not the King of the Beaches ward.

Answering constituents calls could help that IMO.

A brief interlude from the usual here. Reading some of the latest missives from irritated and cynical forumers on the subject of how long its taking to get streetcar door cameras up and running.....
Its another day of 'This City is a Joke'; 'Nothing gets done here' .....etc etc.

Everyone knows here, I'm the first to critique politicians or the civil service over bad decisions or indecision. The streetcar cameras are taking (far) too long, fair to complain.
But I do find it tiresome to hear people endlessly complain about Toronto as if were the worst city on earth, or at least the worst in the developed world, or at least generally awful,.

I need a break from that, as I'm sure some of you do, so without donning rose-coloured glasses, or pretending there aren't lots of proverbial fires to put out.......lets take a moment to see the City in a different light.

Ok..... enough glowing in the nice reviews from outside our fair land............. (PS, the original poster is from Richmond, Va) ..........

Toronto needs to provide better services, it needs to be cleaner, safer, have No One who is homeless, and better architecture and so much more.

But no, the City is not a joke, its not terrible, for most, and maybe a tad less generalist dumping would be good, because you want to remember we have something good enough to be worth fighting to improve.
