lol I just got back from Union Station and saw a crazy junkie openly steal a box from the Laduree cart and run away and then sit on the floor of the subway station opening it up while screaming to himself. No security ever pulled up.
What is this supposed to prove? Did someone say no crime or petty theft happens in the city anymore?

The drug and mental health crisis has gotten worse under her watch and those people are allowed to commit crimes all over the city with no consequences

It's gotten worse under Doug Ford's watch.
Feel free to link me to a similar complaint you made in the Mayor John Tory's thread, as this isn't a new issue since Chow.

So again, as stated by others, "Depends on your definition of crime" is bs.

It has gotten worse under her watch and that is a fact but sure you can deflect and put some of that blame on Ford. He should have gotten rid of those ‘’safe’’injection sites much sooner.

This is the definition of confirmation bias lol

Shoplifting is down 9.8% YTD btw but doubt that'll impact your opinion
It increased by 14% in 2024 according to statistics Canada. Unlikely it’s gone down since given the state of the city and its lack of law enforcement.

So the fact that addicts are now injecting themselves unsafely, did that make things better? Solve any problems?

Addicts will be addicts regardless. Making it “safer” for them only means enabling their use. Forced treatment or real penal consequences is the only solution.

Depends on your definition of crime. I literally see a shoplifter pretty much every time I go to the Dollarama on Front E.
Weird because i'm frequently at this location and have never witnessed outright shoplifting. If it was as bad as you try to claim they wouldn't have installed self-checkouts, like how they haven't installed any at Sherbourne & Queen.

I've seen more police presence at the LCBO next door, frankly, but that's an aside to the confirmation bias you're trying to pass off as evidence.

Ah, yes. Because "war on drugs" is the solution to the problem that never failed anywhere it was tried. Not even once! Uh-huh...
I hear they implemented a lot of anti-addict initiatives in Afghanistan ever since Taliban came to power. You may consider moving there, experience living in the addict-free urban spaces for yourself.

It's not deflection, it's his responsibility to ensure health care is provided.
That you only want to blame Chow shows that you just don't like Chow and are trying to blame her for your imagined issues. Just be upfront.

Right and giving free drugs and letting druggies use drugs has worked so well in cities where it’s been happening

My bias is the same as yours. We just have different opinions and experiences

Do you think the Mayor of Toronto has the power to confine people and force specific health care methodologies on them?
Seems like that would be something your beloved Ford would have the power to do, not a Mayor.

I voted for her. Not a fan of what’s been happening under her watch and decisions she’s made or avoided making. But yes, I do not like her and her policies and her cabinet at this point
