I too am curious what those are. Are they some sort of structural sensors? If they're all antennas then any bird that lands on that roof is going to get microwaved.Hopefully it turns out well or it's defining feature is going to be all those (cell phone?) antennas

Now this building deserves the "cactus rat" moniker. I am really looking forward to seeing how this one turns out. I suspect that an otherwise blah building might sparkle a bit.

New owners as of early 2024 and they are currently seeking to designate it as a Municipal Historic Resource. There is an active rezoning application in place as well to allow for a wider range of uses. With that said, I think this building will get some much-needed love soon.

Thank goodness! I see this house almost every day and the state it’s in makes me sad. It’s truly a unique to Edmonton kind of building, one that deserves care and attention. I hope it’s use ends up making it accessible to the public in some way.

No - the Italian Bakery pulled out of Chinatown.
