Not sure, Goldie. Remember it was the "New Fort", not Fort York.

Here's a pairing at Gerrard & Jarvis, including that well-known Harvey's:

not much of a difference :D,

The lack of difference is probably because the Then pic is most likely from the late 80's or early 90's, given that both the Peace Garden and Metropolitan Hotel were built in the 80's. In 1965, Nathan Phillips Square looked like this:

Toronto Mayor, T.L. (Tommy) Church, officiated at the laying of the CNE Coliseum corner stone in 1921

Ninety-four years later the historic monument can be found half-buried near the unused north entrance of the renamed Ricoh Coliseum.

In 1912 there was a CNE railway station at the Dufferin Gates (view looking S/E).

The station has been replaced by the Gardiner Expressway and the stairs stand abandoned nearby (looking N/E).

I wrote to Mike Layton, the local Councillor and member of Ex Board asking him why they had buried this piece of heritage. He seemed interested, and keen to uncover it!

Thanks DSC.
Nice to know that my discovery may yield some positive results.

"Then. Sutton Place Hotel. Promotional picture. Can anyone date the Rolls Royce? Sutton Place opened in 1967."
Mustapha.

The Rolls Royce ('65 through '80) was probably that of an in-stock model from O' Donnell-Mackie Limited, later to become O' Donnell-Morrison,
they being at the s/e corner of Bay & Wellesley with The Sutton Place Hotel on the n/e.

The bumpers are of the pre-1976 type (no rubber).
