This is pathetic. The City of Mississauga is a joke, can't wait to move away from this corruption and mismanagement, seriously.

40 and 45 minute frequencies are fine for really late night service. Frequencies of 54 minutes and 80 minutes are just unacceptable. Exactly how much money is this city think it will save by cutting service on ONE evening of the year? It is just ridiculous. This city council is just incompetent. Mississauga Transit is incompetent. Why bother providing the service at all if you cut it to the point that it becomes unusable?

The 3 is not exactly the busiest route. It wouldn't surprise me to see it not run at all next NYE.
What I am surprised at is the 26 running only every 50 minutes.

How can you say that considering it is the 4th highest ridership route after 19, 1's, and 26?

I meant of the 3 major subway routes.
It's easy to walk from Burnhamthorpe or Dundas to get to your destination anyway if you're taking the bus home that night.

The distance from Bloor to either Dundas or Burnhamthorpe is at least 1km. Not exactly "easy to walk," especially if it late night and you are tired and intoxicated.

80 minute service would be a surprise even for Winston Churchill, let alone a busy route such as Bloor. 80 minutes would be a surprise for ANY route. How many routes out there run every 80 minutes?

Even 40 minutes is unacceptable for Bloor, not sure why anyone would argue that it should not run at all. If Bloor should not run at all, then that means only 3 routes should have NYE service: 1, 19, and 26?

The Bloor bus (#3) is the one I would be taking to get home if I was not driving. It's a bit shocking to read that they are providing only 80-minute service on New Year's Eve.. That's essentially the same as no service.

Walking to/from either Burnhamthorpe or Dundas is not necessarily the answer either, depending where on Bloor you are. East of Cawthra, you can walk to Burnhamthorpe, and it's probably about 1 km. depending on specific street patterns. You can't access Dundas from Bloor east of Dixie (to the Etobicoke boundary), as Little Etobicoke Creek is in the way, without any bridges at all.

West of Cawthra, the Bloor bus loops around Mississauga Valley Blvd. It's a good long walk north to Burnhamthorpe, and it's pretty much impossible to access the area on foot from Dundas, because of railway line and the big embankment along Dundas.

I see this as a backward step.

Oh the pity! Mighty Sauga Transit has fallen from one of the underdogs (back in 5,6 years ago) to become a dreg in GTA. Its malodor growth makes TTC actually look stellar.
At this growth, we will never see the true light of LRT...
I guess TTC is the only "Better Way" out of all Ontario transit systems.

Read the New Year Service headway as it is an anti transit one if I every saw one.

19 see 30 minutes, 26 see 56 minutes, 11 see 35 minutes

Now..........#3..........80 minutes. It was 40 last year up from 20.

1,19, 3 and 26 should not be tampered at ALL. These are cash cows for MT and are the busiest in holidays. What are these punks smoking?

The rest of the system headway has double over last year. Why put service on the road when it it will put drivers behind the wheel in the first place?

5,9, 11, 13, 23 and 34 headways are too long, even if they are less used at the period. It could be better with 30, 45, 25, 35, 30 and 30 minutes, respectively. 4, 6, 20, 42, 44, 68 and other routes I don't really mind, because they are lightly-used routes during Christmas.

From December 1st to December 31st, since it is break/exam time at UTM, if they had cut the weekday rush hour headway of the 110 from 13 minutes to 15 minutes, it would have eliminated approximately five 45 minute trips in each direction per weekday, for a total of 105 trips per direction for the whole month.

This would not only save MT more than enough money to provide not only the usual NYE late night service, but even allow them to expand and improve that service as well. They could have had not only vastly improved frequencies from they are planning now, but also more routes and better coverage as well.

Any changes to Mississauga Transit services beside the introduction of 107 - Malton Express? I heard that a service update is on next Monday, March 22...

^ Route 110 University will be renamed to... get this... drumroll please... the NEW 110 University Express! No service changes though.
