I'm willing to bet they'll stick to the standard 17" seat width, which has long been too narrow for bundled up North American commuters in Winter coats with shopping bags and backpacks. Also, anyone over 6' has their knees wedged against a cruel sharp metal bar that claims to act as an "armrest" for the sidelong seats. Can someone start to make these things a little more spacious? Toronto's subways are positively spacious compared to Montreal's slender Metro. Of course our seats are too narrow too...
