I really hope the entire slate of better Edmonton loses to show the government a full repudiation of this model.

I have a feeling that the Edmonton Forward types have the attitude of “How much can I get for free?” and they view the City of Edmonton as their piggy bank.

Knack leading in new Janet Brown poll.

We’ll see what the actual results are. I’m surprised at the lead Knack has in this and suspect the actual results will be much closer.

Yes, I also feel the actual results will be closer. Most of the signs I have seen on private property have been for Knack, although that is not surprising in the areas I generally go to. I do feel he is ahead.

I sincerely hope Brown is right. With the massive fundraising advantage Cartmell and PACE have, it would send a clear message that our elections aren't for sale.
I am not really keen on anyone on the current ineffective council, but particularly Cartmell. For one, I don't think parties are a good idea, secondly he is too negative and thirdly as a councilor was very ineffective.

Heck, he didn't even manage to show up for the important zoning vote in June. I suppose he is a touch better than Mike Nickel, but until the right can find someone more likeable and positive they are going to keep losing here.

With Canada Post strike and no one receiving election notices or polling information, I expect voter turnout to be in the low 30%
They're going to a rotating strike on Tuesday, so it'll be interesting to see how many notices/info cards make it through the system by election day.

Interesting analysis of voting patterns for our outgoing council by the Journal.

“Mayoral candidates Coun. Tim Cartmell and Coun. Andrew Knack voted together 72 per cent of the time, and both voted around 75 per cent of the time with outgoing Mayor Amarjeet Sohi.”

It’s interesting to see the correlation between individual Council members as well as the correlation between their votes and the winning votes.
