"Most" countries around the world are for Trump to lose to Joe Biden. Except for Putin (Russia), North Korea, Brazil, and a very few others.

They are hoping he will lose but the reality is that even if he does he will likely be given a military escort out of the White House by top generals at the request of the US Speaker of the House.

That would be the start of the next US Civil War and an unstable United States does not help anyone.

On the topic of the US' sketchy dealings with Russia:

Report: Oligarchs skirt US sanctions through shady art sales

July 29, 2020

Russian oligarchs have skirted U.S. sanctions through murky high-end art deals, according to a congressional report released Wednesday that urged lawmakers to rein in an unregulated industry favoured by money launderers.

The secrecy of the art world — in which buyers often remain anonymous — gave billionaire friends of President Vladimir Putin access to the American economy even after the United States sanctioned them following Russia’s 2014 annexation of Crimea, the report found.

Investigators traced $18 million in art buys to shell companies linked to Arkady and Boris Rotenberg, close Putin associates who American officials say benefited financially from the Crimean annexation.

Trump tells suburban voters they will ‘no longer be bothered’ by low-income housing

Wed, Jul 29 2020

  • “I am happy to inform all of the people living their Suburban Lifestyle Dream that you will no longer be bothered or financially hurt by having low income housing built in your neighborhood,” Trump tweeted Wednesday.
  • Earlier this month, the Trump administration replaced an Obama-era fair housing rule with its own rule, dubbed “Preserving Community and Neighborhood Choice.”
  • The tweets mark an escalation of Trump’s campaign strategy of trying to stoke fear in suburban voters of poor urban residents, who are overwhelmingly people of color.

Doug around 4 years ago:

Well now , Doug sure had a couple things astonishingly right, and a couple of things wrong in his assessment of Trumps chances and performance. Nobody thought Trump had a chance at the nomination or then beating Hillary, but he pulled it off in true showmanship fashion. As for being the populist for the little guy against big money, and for Trump not beholding to special interests, I think Doug has a different opinion now. Trump is beholding all right, but not to those special interests that most would have recognized, or even thought possible a few years ago.

What?

Colour me shocked. Not. Trump calls for a delay in the election. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-53597975?SThisFB

Few key things here:

Trump cannot just order the election be delayed via an executive order.

It is a congressional statute and has to be legislated in by a vote in both the house and senate. The Dems own the House and the GOP own the senate. In other words the idea of delaying the election is DOA. The Dems won't delay the election without a legitimate reason such as 9/11 style attack a week before the election. Some Republicans (especially those up for re-election) may not go for it at the risk of alienating their voters.

If Trump delays the election past January 20th 2020 he is automatically out

The US Constitution states that an orderly transition of power MUST occur on January 20th 2020 at noon. Via the US order of precedence, if Trump delays the election into 2021 he will vacate the office by default as of January 20th 2020 and Nancy Pelosi becomes president as the Speaker of the House by default.

An election delay is not tolerable and will cause a schism

The Democrats will never go along with this and will never vote for an election day because of a tweet. The GOP however will be divided as Mitch McConnell will likely be pushing for it while GOP voters nationally will be torn over whether or not this is even a legal thing to do. The GOP Is patriotic and delayed the election may seem to some as illegal and a violation of their rights while Trump supporters may buy what he is selling.

GOP Senators may not vote for a delay knowing that it may cost them the election while others may chance it. This will lead to a schism within the party and I can see a new party being formed from it. Not like the Tea Party movement but more like the Bull-Moose Party or the Whig Party.
