This is an informed crowd. As distasteful and unbelievable and disappointing as I find the events of the past twenty-four hours, I think that baying like wolves for the police to find evidence of criminality has no place.

There is no place for politics in law enforcement. I have always believed our (Canadian) system of professional crown attorneys (in place of elected district attorneys in the USA) and appointed judges (based on experience and reputation at the bar) as opposed to electing the 'hanging judge' in the USA was far superior. Look no further than Washington if you want to see the devastating impact of politics on law enforcement.

Should there be smoke, then let it be investigated and let the chips fall where they may.

We should be above being a mob. It isn't pretty here in this forum and it was no less pretty when an accused witch was burned at the stake in earlier days.

Bwah! Not very bright, are you, dear? And your adopted style for commentary is all very ooh-la-la, hoity-toity, Lord-of the-Manner passive aggressive faux politeness, and this, mind you, while accusing those you insult of being "snobs!" Tee hee! How simply adorable.

Well, I knew Ford's debased fanbase would be acting up online now that their bullying asshole hero is triumphant, and I also knew they'd be pretending astonishment over how anyone could possibly dislike or disapprove of a fine fellow like Doug Ford, so perhaps a recap in is order: Ford is a belligerent right wing prick, which would be reason enough to despise him, but he's also (like his late brother) one of the most openly dishonest, self-serving famewhores in Canadian political history. The latter is also cause enough to loathe him all by itself, needless to say.

But the main reason I find Dofo so repulsive is the miasma of low-level criminality that clings to him (and certain other members of his clan) like a bad stench. Make no mistake: There's good reason that "Thug" is one of the main nicknames used to disparage Ford online, because that's exactly what he is. There's still all sorts of ugly, violent crap that occurred during his brother's tabloidesque tenure as Mayor that we'll probably never get proper explanations for, given the Toronto Police's Keystone Kops level of incompetence when it came to dealing with the Fords. Possibly you remember some of these episodes? Silly, inconsequential trivialities like prison beatings, home invasions, people being thrown off balconies, a few deaths, Pea Brain posing for selfies with gang members, drug dealers & gun runners outside a crack house? Any of this ringing a bell?

The thing that really gets me is that Ford's right wing fans are all solidly in the Law 'N' Order camp, yet they're aggressively unwilling to acknowledge any of this extreme nastiness, and they get indignant when the rest of us call them on their hypocrisy. I daresay everyone reading this can imagine the very different reaction this unpleasantness would bring out were a liberal or NDP (or moderate conservative) politico the one behind such antics. Instead, you're reduced to stamping your widdle feet and shrieking, "the PM's a drug dealer because I say so!!! Waaaaahhhhhh!" Pathetic.

Once again you confuse the individual named Doug Ford (no criminal activity) with the late individual named Rob Ford. Shall we continue to judge all politicians then by the behavior of their siblings (Justin Trudeau's drug addict brother, Obama's Trump supporting half brother?) parents (Justin Trudeau's mentally ill mother) and spouses (Hillary Clinton's impeached womanizing husband)?

One final comment to you before I block your pitiful online persona into oblivion:

So Wynne's deputy minister of education was convicted of possession of child porn, yet Doug Ford is the politician who associates with criminals?

<drops the mic>

What's distasteful and unbelievable and disappointing about a party democraticly electing a new leader?

Easy on the mic, you could break it.

Listen, pointing out the faults of one person while ignoring the faults of the person you are defending is a bit......um, wack. You can't deflect like that and expect to get anywhere.

I also really enjoyed your Trudeau-as-drug-dealer bit. Let me tell you as someone who knows a thing or two about drug dealers: Justin Trudeau is about as much a drug dealer as is my nan, which is to say, he isn't one. You're not exactly up to speed on the various regimes of ganj retail sales across the nation, are ya? Nor at all cognizant of who the suppliers are. You should check it out, looks like you'd learn something. Never stop learning, I reckon.

I think that's a bit unfair. Wynne has (well the government has) dozens of deputy ministers who are not political - they are the highest level of impartial civil servant in each ministry.

I think this is the story that you also want to reference: Member of Ontario premier's transition team faces child porn charges

So it's a politically corrupted Deputy Minister who's very close to the premier who was convicted of possession of child porn.

He will really go after Wynne and her gang of fiscal terorrists who are destroying the financial future of the Province.
Fiscal terrorists? Damn, that's a weird one. You don't get out much, do you? Globally, I mean.
First of all, a fiscal terrorist would be someone who uses murder and extortion to further their fiscal goals.
Second of all, even if one were to accept your term and assign it the meaning you have then I say you haven't seen what a real fiscal terrorist might look like.

Take, for example, the Maduro regime in Venezuela. Bleeding foreign reserves and defaulting on debts like its their job. In fact, the Maduro regime is the perfect template for your term: they can be seen as terrorists in general. I'm no fan of the provincial government but I would hardly call them fiscal terrorists. Have you seen the Maduro gang's games?

Wynne cares about winning. Nothing else. She’s a demon.

That cycle must be broken.

You're right about breaking the cycle, though confused about which one, perhaps. I reckon your cycle of hyperbole needs to end. A demon? lol, wut?

Hitler was a demon. Mao was a demon. Stalin was a demon.

I'm no fan of hers, but at least I know what a politician as demon would actually look like. Settle down, you sound like someone whose life has been too easy and who doesn't know what real shit looks like.

I went for a nice hour-long walk along the water and came back to the @LMVDR comedy hour. Good times.

Hahahaaa.....that lady in the vid you posted, @TheTigerMaster!
I can't......why?
Daesh coming to Toronto = John Tory

Really! How does she even have a house to be taxed out of? I'm surprised she's capable of feeding herself.

Darwin....your theory is not applicable to homo sapiens, bud.

No doubt much worse and thanks for the education but that is the direction we're headed under Wynne.

I'll say it three times:

$312,000,000,000 and climbing.

Ontario is the largest sub sovereign debtor on earth.
Ontario is the largest sub sovereign debtor on earth.

We're not heading in the direction of Venezuela. You must be joking. Venezuela, bud. We're talking about the same Venezuela here, right? Maduro? Foreign reserves drain? Defaulting on sovereign debt? 100000%+ inflation? Majority of the population losing weight for lack of food? That's the Venezuela I'm talking about. What Venezuela are you comparing Ontario to?

You drunk by chance?

This reminds me: our FPTP electoral system is already democratically deficient so we may as well impose logical reasoning tests on people which they have to pass in order to be allowed to vote. I'm calling for it now.

To me, $312B is a number that needs to be put into context.
  • When Liberals were elected, it was $139B - that's up 125%.
To put in into to more context, lets look at the period 2005 to 2015, where Conservative Harper can be compared to Liberal McGuinty/Wynne.

Jurisdiction / 2005/06 ___ / 2015/16 ___ / increase
Canada ____ / $ 481.5B*__ / $612.3B* *__ /27%
Ontario ____ / $140.9B ___ / $295.4B ___ / 110%
* - excludes first 2 months under Harper.
**- includes 5 months of Trudeau when he quickly added $5B debt to erase surplus. Thus, Harper numbers actually look better than what's presented.

Put another way -
  • If McGuinty/Wynne were in charge of Canada, our debt would be $397B more.
  • If Harper was in charge of Ontario, our debt would be $116B less.
