In July we traveled to the US for a pre-Trump booked cruise to Greenland out of NYC. My white, blonde, blue eyed adult kids both asked if it was safe to travel, and I said pretty much the above, that they’re after brown people, you aryan English-Ukrainian hybrids are fine. And they were, sailed straight through. What a world….

Canadians are also getting hassled in the US. Better to not go. I understand having a pre-arranged vacation. I wouldn't plan any future travel. Canadians have no rights in the US, when the administration is abusing its own citizens like this.

I completely agree. I won’t return to the US for leisure until the government backs off from its aggressive stance toward Canada and until US society restores at least the basic human rights and freedoms that existed before Trump’s time. That said, I’m not convinced Trump was just an anomaly, and I worry that MAGA might continue to influence US policies well into the 2030s. If that’s the case, US leisure travel may be off the table for the foreseeable future.
