The view just before and just after sunset:

That parking lot is the perfect spot for a 1000'ft office tower. Sadly don’t think that’s going to happen since the boom is pretty much over and by the time the next boom comes it’ll probably be occupied by a mid-sized condo.

echoing vegeta's note ... given current economy .... my guess something will happen there in about 7-8 years

I'm pretty sure that's the site for the (rumoured) Manulife tower, as indicated in an older 'future rendering' done by maldive on SSP. That was my impression

I believe that tower fronted Bay St. between Gardiner and Union ? Or is this another project?

It's really nice to see a LEED Gold going up downtown. Now how long until we get a LEED Platinum, maybe on the parking lot next door?

Toronto condo prices are still well below similar size worldwide citys,so as long as people are buying they will build. The office and condo boom may be slowing down, but Toronto with its 100 or so hi-rise towers under construction and all proposed/approved which is approx.300 towers, even if 1/4 of them get shelved Toronto will still stay healthy with tons of cranes and construction for the next 4-5 years,Remember some of the big ones...1Bloor,Aura,L-Tower,Ice,Signature,BA-2/3 .....have yet to be build.

Some shots of RBC I got yesterday:

This last shot shows how the stairwell construction along Wellington is happening. There are two intertwined stairwells here, with one hidden side of the diagonal hidden behind the rising concrete wall. It appears that the next landing is being readied to be added. The stair between the landing and each floor maybe be a prefab section (based on the lip you can see on a finished floor).

Terrific pics, interchange!
