Whenever the TDSB sells a school the TCDSB gets first right of refusal to buy it. So when Regent Park/ Duke of York PS closed in 2012, the Catholic board acquired the land, demolished the school and has been sitting on this land unused for over a decade. I would like to see the province seize the land and build much needed housing. There is also an image of the lot for a Catholic school and I wonder if there will be something a little more ambitious now that zoning and government are much more flexible on mixed-use and higher densities.
Looks like Gimbap House isn't going ahead – the signage has been removed and the unit is bare.Building’s retail on the northwest corner of Dundas and River is almost full. Gimbap is a Korean place. Taken 2 March.
