If he hates downtown so much, we should just close the Yonge line north of Eglinton now. Besides, this is the guy pushing for "North York Relief", so he knows a thing or two about taxpayers dollars

Does he? Because I'm pretty sure he has a slightly different idea of where money comes from.

Does Holyday cite a single shred of objective data to support these assertions, or is it just the usual moronic suburban identity politics?

What a waste of time- grandstanding rather than any actual work.

Ford's streetcar study would be costly, ineffective: report
Etobicoke councillor still expected to push for comparison of buses versus streetcars on Queen St.

City and TTC staff say they won’t support Councillor Michael Ford’s request to study whether buses would operate more effectively than streetcars on Queen St., after concluding that the exercise would be costly, logistically difficult, and unlikely to yield usable data.

“Due to TTC scheduling constraints, it is not recommended that this study be carried out,” said a transportation department report that was made public Tuesday and is expected to be debated at this week’s council meeting, already in progress.

A spokesperson for the councillor said that Ford (Ward 2 Etobicoke North) would still urge his colleagues to vote for the study, which the report estimated would cost at least $681,100.

That would require removing Etobicoke from Toronto, admittedly a huge win for the rest of us but probably not feasible because nothing can ever change.

Holyday also (of course) motioned to "prioritize Front and Bathurst for motorists" by "removing encumbrances to motorists", such as pedestrian crossings.

In a Council debate rife with dumb shit, this might've been the dumbest (a title Holyday often tries to wrestle away from Mammoliti and DMW).

Holyday seriously wants to remove crosswalks on Front and Bathurst? That's batshit even by suburban councillor standards.

And that's not even mentioning the part when he flashed this diagram of a diseased heart to make his stupid point, labelling various arteries "king", "Bloor", "Gardiner".

"What happens when you start closing off the arteries? The heart dies and the body dies".
