No one is going to change anything. If these transit plans are cancelled, the provincial and federal money will be lost. Period. End of story.

I can't help but notice that the google ad at the bottom is anti-Ford... Even Google thinks so.

So, wait, hold on. What we're all coming to agree upon is that streetcars running amok in our city could easily electrocute the elderly and other upstanding citizens through the ground?

So what of the streetlight handwells that have actually electrocuted dogs? Do we remove those too? If we remove them then not only will dogs be safer, but they can use all that wasted space that the lights used to occupy to widen the roads a little bit! Roads are for cars, not immobile poles! It's OK, we don't need them anyways, cars have headlights. Plus the electricity saved - think of all the gravy the city has given to the hydro utilities over the years!

Again, more proof that you're clueless....most of your post makes absolutely no sense, and you've completely missed the FACT that the streetcars connection to ground through the wheels IS the return path for the current flowing through its motors.

Please google this before making such a fool of yourself.

Interesting! Another rabid Ford supporter who joined this site just this summer and seems to almost totally ignore the threads devoted to architecture, urban planning and development. Doug, why would you join a site created for architecture and urban planning, if you are only interested in politics and the Rob Ford threads? I'm starting to notice a pattern with all these new members who promote Ford. None of them seem to give a rat's ass about Toronto development, urban planning or any of the main threads on Urban Toronto. It's called URBAN TORONTO for a reason, Doug!

Notice how all these Ford supporters are so passionate and belligerent to anybody who doesn't love Ford as much as they do? Interesting! Could it just be coincidence? I doubt it.

Your agenda is loud and clear. How low will Rob Ford sink to win an election? Would he use his millions to pay pesky trolls to flood the internet? I'm just asking? lol The exact same thing is happening on SSC. Coincidence? Yeah, right.

It's uncanny - they've learned from the master!

~snip~

LMAO, that's hilarious... and sad.

If this is the fool that Toronto wants for a mayor, then this is the fool that Toronto should get.

Toronto should suffer for 4 years... it will teach a lesson to those who get burned by his mayoralty.

Toronto has been good at choosing fools for years for City Council. How does someone like Raymond Cho be a Councillor for 19 years? Are they smoking something in Malvern?

I don't support ford.

That's what got me confused too because I thought Doug has been arguing for streetcars all along while Waffler was saying that buses are better in downtown traffic. How did Doug become a Ford supporter?

Rob Ford idea that buses are better than streetcars:

yeah, right.

No offense, but this post is as ridiculous as anything Rob Ford has said.

How exactly transit in Detroit has anything to do with transit in Toronto, I don't know.

Random query.... would a Rob Ford Toronto possibly include a casino in TO? Isn't Woodbine in his district? It could be something he could push the province into doing and "reward" Rexdale with more tourism and extra cash that can be funneled into city hall.

To "protect the taxpayers", Rob Ford includes this policy:

Giving citizens a voice a City Council: allowing the public to speak at City Council meetings.

The only problem is when I wanted to comment one of his youtube videos that I put a "thumbs down" on, I wasn't allowed to add a comment. Looks more like a policy taken from George Orwell's Animal Farm: "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others." In other words, you better agree with Rob Ford, or you will end up like the Toronto Star and become ostracized.

Rob Ford says if elected he will finally end Toronto’s ongoing “war on the car.â€

Nope. It will escalate.

The road belongs to everyone.
