Because the mayor's budget can be distributed whatever way he feels necessary, and I believe there are no restrictions on the number of employees. The mayor's office spent $1.9m last year. He could, theoretically, pay a single staffer $1.9m to do everything.

I often wondered why Provost looked relatively unperturbed while Ford's insanity was exploding all around him. I guess a great big pile of money helps a lot.

Semi-relevant: I was re-watching the video where Ford admits smoking crack, and realised that it's not Ford or the reporters you should watch, but Provost, who is standing behind Ford. His facial expressions are those of a man who expects things to get much, much worse in the very immediate future, and who is looking for a [literal] escape route.

Anything is possible when you are paying your staff not to leave during a crack scandal.

Amir Remtulla made 130K in 2012 for the months of January till end of July as chief of staff (page 164)

Mark Towhey made 160k he was director of policy until August of 2012 when he took over as Chief of Staff

Earl Provost made 101K in 2012 he was in charge of stakeholder relations and then as deputy Chief of staff 2012

Chief of staff salary ranged around the 180K range. As pointed out on the ITO sizeable raises were handed out to employees to stay in May as well as other increases like the 5K recently. Wouldn't be hard to imagine his salary reaching that level quickly. There is no set pay ranges in the Mayors office. Special assistants start used to start at 35,000 a year and there is no pay scale to follow for any other role in the office. That is why considering his experience it was shocking to see Price being paid for 130K. Very few were making over 100K a year. Mayor Ford wanted to kept salaries low and fewer staff so it appeared to be spending less then mayor Miller. After May and many staff leaving there are now several making more then 100K.

This is common knowledge on the second floor. I don't have an article but the sunshine list will show this next year.

Its not. Rob Ford uses blackberry. Robyn Doolittle has said that a. it was filmed on an iphone and that b. there was nothing to suggest it had been filmed on Rob Fords lost phone.

I sent these to the NP and they posted the exchange involving the porn star, but not the others, probably because I couldn't provide the necessary context. I wish I had grabbed more, but I wasn't anticipating things get removed.

The photo of Nikki Benz (the blonde in the first pic) was taken last Monday. It was deleted shortly after I saved it, about a half hour before the entire account was removed. There were lots of tweets propositioning porn stars and pictures posted during encounters with them.

Yep. As great of a M. Night Shyalaman twist as this would be, the "crack video filmed on Ford's lost phone" theory just doesn't hold water. There are plenty of other ways in which Smith's murder might be linked back to Ford by the police.
