My guess is that Renata has her own very serious issues. Add those to the probable abuse dynamic in the marriage, and she can't see her way out of it. She has been with Rob since high school, I think? So she may have literally no idea how she could live without him. We know, and she knows, that the Ford family plays dirty, so she may be afraid of the consequences if she tries to leave, like more or less never seeing her children again. Or maybe she has some secrets they would use against her.

Now I'm trying to imagine how on earth any woman could find Rob Ford attractive, even when he was younger. It must have been the family money. Same for Doug too.

You're right Jimmi T -- Romeo has nothing to do with GFL...in fact, they are a competitor to his business at Keele North Recycling. Romeo and Ford know each other from growing up in the same 'hood.

Having spent over 20min looking at Doug's wife's Instagram page (20min I'll never, ever get back) – I feel the statement above is pretty accurate.

I agree. People who haven't seen the family law system up close think there's no way a judge would let Rob take the kids away from Renata or even have joint custody of them with her. But even if that were true (which it isn't, with every judge), the law moves slowly, it takes months or years to get to trial, and no decision involving minor children is ever final. The Fords could make Renata's life absolute hell if they wanted to. They could use the legal system to drain all her resources. They could reveal every skeleton she has in her closet, to the public and to the court.

This is leaving aside the fact that the Fords are physically aggressive people with some very shady/scary connections.

This is a decent summary of the kinds of things the Fords could do. Note that most of them have nothing to do with what the law is or what a judge would decide. It's all about abusing the process. And a lot of the remedies the page suggested aren't available unless the other party can be shown to have been abusing the process for a long, long time.

I was wondering this too. Also, the original post said something about Doug having a bad day (not Rob, as expected). Was that a typo, or is DoFo tied up in the escort business somehow (a thousand apologies for any horrifying mental images that may unintentionally ensue from that), or did it just mean that his role as RoFo's handler/controller/babysitter just got that much more challenging?
