Reason to always be wearing your "I'm with Stupid" t-shirt underneath your zip-up. In case you one day meet the man. Even though it's a big joke, I'd guess that unfortunately most of the people who do get their pictures taken with him come away believing he's more human and accessible than your everyday politician. My niece had hers taken with Ford during a class trip, and she says that he seemed like a good guy. Her teacher also said that, in the local newspaper. She also was given a Ford Nation t-shirt. She gave it to my brother-in-law for Christmas.

Message to Toronto media: Please concentrate on what's important for our city. Tomorrow Karen Stintz is announcing her run for mayor campaign. Kathleen Wynne will be meeting with Norm Kelly. No magicians. Do not fall for the same old city hall sleight-of-hand tricks when the Ford brothers bring a goat into the office or promise to show reporters how to drink beer through their noses.

The 'Muhricanization of Canada.

While Canadians are not as expressive as Americans, segments of it's population easily rival their stupidest American counterparts. Thus we have ford nation. In the US at least you know who the idiots are. They have bumper stickers and gun racks, it's in the way they dress, walk and talk. They wear it on their sleeve with pride. In Canada you never know. The seemingly polite guy in front of you in the supermarket could be a staunch Ford supporter and a completely amoral asshole.

Why exactly do we label any opposing point of view here as a troll? I disagree vehemently with RippedLikeStinson and I've spent my adult life debating against the point of view he brought forward but I don't see anything particularly offensive with the manner in which he/she presented it.

I mean sure it was somewhat off topic and we should probably get back on track but we've all been guilty of that at times. Sure, I fully realize this is our community and we (and the mods) have the right to label the opposing viewpoint as unacceptable. But in this case I didn't see a troll - I saw someone with a legitimately presented opinion that happened to differ from the majority here. It came about organically as part of the discussion and didn't seem to happen with an intent to antagonise. Isn't that what Internet debate is supposed to be about?

Not everyone I disagree with is a troll.

Thank you. Unfortunately the majority here don't seem to realize that other minds exist besides their own. How am I a troll when I was just responding to an off topic discussion that was already taking place?

Calling whatever you have a "mind" sure is stretching the truth a bit.

Karl Marx once said "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs." Unfortunately, more than half of Americans incorrectly attribute that quote to George Washington, Thomas Paine, or Barack Obama.

In the Marxist view, such an arrangement will be made possible by the abundance of goods and services that a developed communist society will produce; the idea is that, with the full development of socialism and unfettered productive forces, there will be enough to satisfy everyone's needs.

In other words, socialism does not condone sloth.

Because how could a sane, moral person make such statements unless they were playing the devil's advocate, or trolling?

Not sure because I don't hold them myself as I mentioned. Like you, I find them somewhat morally objectionable. Yet lots of people do hold those opinions - that's kind of the crux of "debate".

Again though - as has been explained to me here we're not looking for debate and that's fair. I'm just uncomfortable with the term troll and the conspiracy theories that he's possibly somebody else we don't like using a different screen name.

Regardless - we're all better off getting back on topic.

RLS seems so much like ONK and Dundat Square, especially with regards to their libertarian Christian fervour.
