Yes, although there is also the fact that Chicago is a hub for many other destinations. For example (and this is entirely hypothetical), if one were off to the Betty Ford Clinic in AZ, Chicago would be the closest hub at which to pick up a scheduled flight to Pheonix (versus the other large hubs, such as New York or Atlanta or Dallas-Fort Worth). Someone in the Ford family circle figured out that taking a private charter out of Buttonville would evade the local press; they could be pretty confident also that, by the time this was discovered, it would be too late to alert the press in Chicago to put watchers at all of the airports there at which a private jet might land (at least 3, IIRC) in order to find out if he is stopping in Chicago or being driven from there to somewhere else or picking up a flight there to another destination.

My own thinking here is the length of a Ford departure could seal the fate of the Brazen 2 investigation, particularly if they're stilling hoping for evidence to fall in their lap. No point if he effectively leaves the race. Then it doesn't involve the Mayor's office.

One doesn't take a private plane to a hub and reconnect elsewhere.
This entire "rehab" thing is a well orchestrated plan. These entitled children have been involved in this type of situation from their childhood (jimmit please confirm). The family knows how to handle the situation, if not the actual source of the problem. Geez, they have a criminal lawyer on retainer.....like every other commoner
Similar to how mama gave the plan of who'll be mayor to Tory, so to has the family(mama) decreed this plan. NOTICE how she availed herself to the media to make a statement of shock and awe at not knowing just how bad slobo has become! RIIIIGGGGHT!
The only things we can be certain of are
1) Kelly has assumed all mayoral duties.
2) Slobo has submitted a leave of absence
3 global tv has reported Slobo has left the building.
That's it.

My bet is that he ends up at some hotel or condo, drinking and smoking himself into oblivion for a month. Then returns and claims to be rehabilitated.

They're investigating crimes they think he has already committed. Doesn't matter whether he's still mayor or still running for mayor. They're looking for proof of what they believe already happened, and it doesn't matter whether he was mayor at the time or not (unless it involves influence peddling or other corrupt practice directly related to his position). Drugs, gangs, guns, murders, beatings, extortion -- that's what they're after. If he does drop out or is defeated, that removes the possibility that an arrest is a political act, making the optics easier on the TPS if they finally act. The only effect on Brazen2 is to potentially prevent gathering evidence of new crimes, I would say.

The investigation started out as a murder investigation long before Ford became associated to it; that case remains open and a priority.
Drug possession charges are relatively minor as quantities on Ford are probably small given that he keeps multiple drug dealers nearby. It only becomes a big deal if Ford was caught selling to the dealers rather than buying from them.

I am immediately, and likely justifiably suspicious of the fact that he is going to Chicago for his treatment.
