AG, Ford referred to the shooter as a "gentleman" during his ramble for goodness sakes, no tunnel vision here.

Anyone else notice that Adam Vaughan has been showing up at news venues (radio, TV, etc.) for interviews about the Eaton Centre shooting. Getting practice?

Where's Rob Ford? Investigating potholes or fallen tree limbs?

Prove it. Let's see all these examples of dangerous rioters and how exactly they were endangering the lives of Torontonians.

wasn't occupy toronto touted as the most peaceful protest of all the occupy's around the world?
it was nothing like the G20 protests.
the most damage done by occupiers was some littering and high-pedestrian traffic to the lawn of st. james park.
mind you, there were reports that store owners in SLM did suffer lower sales while occupiers were camped out at st. james park.

He also issued an email about the shooting to those on his distribution list, and it's not even his Ward - it's Councillor Wong-Tam's Ward. Not that I have a problem with that, I understand that the three downtown Councillors have very good working relationships and work together on many downtown related issues and initiatives.

Busy talking to concerned citizens (read: Ford Nation) on the telephone or at Timmy's, "keep up the good fight to build subways Mayor Ford...". It helps get him through the day.

Those claims of lost revenue were unsubstantiated, though, and some of the restaurateurs were able to milk the situation for plenty of free publicity.

No examples, but what would make Toronto any different of what happened in other world citys where mayors weren't as tolerante.

That's kind of neat, AG. You've been able to judo Ford's complete hand's-off approach to the world (much less politics) into an asset! Only works once in a blue moon, though.

BTW -- quit with the 'if y'all weren't socialists' gibe, will ya? I'd MUCH PREFER to be on Ford's side. It's just that he's... I don't know... COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT.

I will give Ford credit for not going apoplectic on Occupy (as I thought he would), I will also give credit to the police for not provoking the protestors and the leaders themselves for keeping things cool and calm. Even the takedown was calm and peaceful, and I think that was thanks to the police and city workers for taking things easy.

Talk about a failure for Mr. Mayor... Goes to have the 5 cent plastic bag fee taken away, council ends up banning plastic bags altogether. I don't know if they did that because of the issue itself, or if they just wanted to give a massive "F U" to Ford.

Either way it's kind of hilarious.
