I won't click on any links by Warmington or Levy.
I am very much looking forward to tomorrow's ITO and hope it isn't disappointing.
TOP FIVE WORST PEOPLE IN TORONTO:
1) Diane Ford
2) Doug Ford
3) Joe Warmington
4) Rob Ford
5) Sue-Anne Levy
I'll click on Joe's links, just to point out what a horrible excuse for a writer he is, his total lack of ethics aside. I already mentioned that the final sentence of this morning's article didn't even have a subject, and thus was not English, for example. Here are some comments on today's:
The whole city may have been listening to what Mayor Rob Ford was saying in his hospital room address but John Tory understood what it meant.
This is his opening sentence or "lede," as they say in the biz. It does not make sense. BUT John Tory understood? I don't even understand what he's trying to say. Usually BUT is used to set off two contrary things...like that everyone was listening but Tory wasn't. So, great start, Joe!
-He then glosses over how Rob's emotional recording was actually Doug's campaign launch; no comment on it.
-Doug's first quote isn't about himself, it's about John Tory. OK, then.
Of course the platform will be fiscal accountability and other Ford staples. But the motivation is to beat frontrunner Tory.
Not English. You mean the platform will include principles such as fiscal accountability? "John Tory's platform will be a transit plan and other things." See? Makes no sense.
While John Tory was saying Doug insults people poor Doug was "
busy consoling a crying mother, helping an brother in pain and trying to ensure the mayor’s wife and children were able to comprehend the horrible news and did not respond." I guess that was, when? Right after he ran to City Hall to sign up to run for mayor or before? Or both? Just trying to keep the timeline straight here.
“Ruthless,” was a word he used.
Oooh, there's some zippy prose!
Even those who understood Tory was being tactical were shocked.
“I was surprised, myself,” mused Don Cherry when I was talking to him about his get well message to Rob.
Don Cherry? He understood Tory was being tactical? Who cares. Does Cherry even live in the city?
I won't go on about his poor recounting of history. He shifts to start taking shots at Tory but...
The Fords were not invited and interestingly months later, Doug filed complaint to about Chief Blair’s fishing trip to New Brunswick with Pringle on the very day Ford told the media he had smoked crack.
Do you mean ROB told the media? If you have two people with the same last name, you can't call one "Doug Ford" and the other "Ford."
And, a complaint to WHO, Joe? does anyone proofread this crap before he throws it online?
Considering him a Ford loyalist the Fords didn’t think Tory would ever run against them.
Hey, Joe! Mr. Professional Writer! That little curvy thing beside the period on your keyboard is called a comma. Try using it!
Turns out Toronto politics will not be boring without Mayor Ford in the race after all.
Did someone say they would be? And what does this have to do you with your lede? It's like he got bored writing about one thing and then started writing about something else and then just shifted again until he hit his word count.
Yeah, I dislike Joe Warmington.
