I don't wish death by cancer on anyone. However, that is a very real possibility. In this situation, 99.9% of people would just leave politics.

Just to be clear, the post (quoted by Animatronic, and now deleted because of glaring ambiguity - if that's possible) was referring to the letter received by KWT wherein the author wished the punishing death by horrible illness upon a sitting politician while 'in Office'. The point, such as it is, being that FN rules seem to decree that such wishes upon one politician are A-OK, but if their preferred saviour is the subject of such, sacrilege and abomination deserve RIGHTEOUS HELLFIRE RAINED UPON THEE.

If the MINO has a chauffeur, I am surprised he doesn't have a maid or butler to answer the door.

Have the ITO's taught you nothing?

The Ford inner circle is as leaky Krackskandalburgermeister's bladder in a public park.

Regarding Councillors who say they donate their salaries to charity.

Why not just do this...

"Members cannot refuse to receive remuneration from the City, but can choose to donate a portion of their salary (after deductions) back to the City."

That would show Respect for Taxpayers!

Assuming anybody attends another debate in this broken election process, ↑ this ought to be waved from the high holy by one of the Non-Ford candidates. Because the unquestioned fabulism of Doug The Apostle has been yip-toed around too much by a servile, obedient media. He has fluffed this hazy pong for far too long. Where has his 'donated to charity' (which he apparently can't do) salary gone? Who's 'bin mentered' by these monies?

When is the next 'debase' anyway?

I wonder if Robs started using again. No more political pressure to stay sober

Of course he is using. He never stopped. It's not like he went to real rehab, and it's not like he tried at all to stop when he was at fake rehab. If actively running for office didn't stop him, there's no way that passively running for office will, cancer diagnosis or not.

And for anyone imagining that he is too sick to get out of bed right now, you can forget it. He was out and about yesterday shortly after 4PM. Spotted the Escalade heading north on Scarlett, above Eglinton. Wonder where he was headed...

Was Rob driving, or in the vehicle?

Good for Rob if he is up and about driving around days after three days of intensive chemotherapy.

ETA: The Escalade's been known to cheat on Rob.

it's true that he did fake rehab, but you can't fake chemo. i think it is very likely that he is scared straight right now. this is the real deal, life or death, and i think even Rob Ford is going to grasp that concept.
in other words, there is a good chance that Rob Ford is stone cold sober, completely drug and alcohol free, for the first time since he was about, oh, 12.

A little late to add this, but I don't think anyone mentioned Doug's mispronunciation of the word "mentor" during the debacle/debate. Over and over he said "menter", as in "I mentered kids...". I was already yelling at the tv by then, but I loved how Tory subsequently said the word correctly and quite emphatically. I wonder if Doug even noticed.

Well, as a Ford National would claim Olivia Chow'd say, the kids he'd menter would turn out menterry letalded, anyway

Indeed, I spotted it heading up to Finch (probably for some pretty good Korean) one time while RoFo was at Mel Lastman Square..
