Charter Communications

Tory was on the board of directors from 2001 to 2009. In 2009 the company did a pre-packaged Chapter 11 filing, which eliminated the existing shares (they were worth nil) and some of the company's debt. Chapter 11 is called 'bankruptcy protection" in the US. So, expect: "Bankruptcy, bankruptcy, bankruptcy folks! Caused by Tory! And he tried to hide this! Bankruptcy, bankruptcy, bankruptcy! You can't trust him with your hard-earned taxpayers money! Did I mention bankruptcy folks?!"

Regarding the local arts issues debate the other day.

I don't mind seeing my tax dollars support talent. But, of all the people to pick as moderator, from a band called, "Fucked Up"? WTF?

Fucked Up is great and Damien is a bright guy who doesn't drink or do drugs. He's civic minded and a fantastic father. Some of his parenting blog posts are wonderful.

And if you can't appreciate the irony of "Fucked Up" moderating a debate in which Doug has replaced Rob in the run for mayor I don't know what to say.

Agreed that behaviour of family is in scope, because Rob and Doug make their fHowever there should be consensus that speculating on their naughty bits is out of scope.

I can agree with that but I think Puds' comment about drapes and rugs was innocent and by the time I chimed in about hardwood the Ks werent even on my mind. I think the thread veered out of good taste by accident. I am sorry if I had any part in offending people.

Hmmmm....I was wondering if Doug was going to take this route:

http://www.briangardiner.ca/hespeler/?p=661

No traction in that one. He has admitted the same, and even to dealing marijuana [but denied dealing hashish] ... but only if "you want to call selling a joint to a friend for $10 dealing".

The focus on "resume", plus some smug-sounding tweets by Graeme-the-glorified-receptionist-turned-red-hunter, leads me to believe it is Charter Communications - especially as the Charter story can be put out there in a misrepresented 'truthy' way to appeal to people who are ignorant about the law, finance and business (in other words, pretty much everyone who might ever think of voting for Doug).

Unlike those cheapskate Irish. RT @canice Ford says chinese people want subways, raises chinese flag over city hall: http://t.co/qtLDbYSfH3

Also thinks "the tiananmen square massacre" was a great '80's Schwarzenegger movie...

I wonder who dug up the info/wrote that Storify for them, and why they don't use that person for everything else. It's pretty clear that anything that they do themselves leads to misspelling the names of local streets on their subway maps and other grammar horrors.

If - IF - JT drove under the influence,
https://storify.com/Chapter11/the-missing-years-in-john-tory-s-business-resume

of course there is no excuse for it. There never is, or was.

But, to put it in the context of the times, he is 60 years old. This ( if it ever did happen ) may ( or may not ) have occurred 40 years ago. Unlike some politicians, apparently he was never charged with it.

It really wasn't until well into the 1980's that MADD and RIDE really came on strong with the education message, backed up with strict enforcement and heavy penalties.

Not to condone DUI, but I believe there was more of it in the 1970's than today.

Silverstain, at least, seems to be able to form a coherent sentence or two, which suggests that he probably is sufficiently intelligent to know that Doug cannot go after Tory with any story about either marijuana or alcohol when Doug is trying to run as "Robbie". Everything I have seen (which of course is far from everything) leads me to believe that Doug's camping team think that Charter Communications is a 'killer gotcha'.
