Mikey is useless. And this whole 1 stop subway extension makes me want to vomit. WTF happened to Keesmaat? She has flip flopped like Karen Stintz.
I’ve got an idea, if this thing gets built we can rename STC Station to Ford Station with a Robert Bruce Ford Memorial tile mosaic of the man himself and charge to take selfies with it; money from pilgrams tourists' trek will also swell the coffers of the TTC.

...with an ATM machine that'll withdraw only one $20 bill from the Ford family's business account, to cover your office expenses.

The proposed Scarborough transit map as it now looks (even that little yellow marker could pass for the Scarborough Civic Centre)

This only became a "whole thing" when the Wynne government came on board.

Not quite - McGunity rolled over back in 2011 - and the debate over SRT went back even further - recall those Soberman reports floating around over replacement strategy? The whole thing was politicized for as long as anybody remember.

AoD

McGuinty compromised/rolled over on a grade-separated Eglinton-SRT. There's nothing to indicate he ever had interest in the Stintz-De B. subway.

Just thinking how politics have not improved our transit system
Lois Griffin if my memory serves me correct a former councillor (Rexdale-Thistletown) and Chair of the TTC from 1989 to 1991, was the main drive in dismantling the TTC. The TTC owned and operated a very profitable highway coach operation in Ontario Grey Coach. Grey Coach was the money maker for the TTC and subsidized many of their projects, Lois Griffin set into motion to sell off the Highway Coach operation because she was adamant that it was inappropriate for the TTC to run on profits. (This is what was told - not sure how accurate) Grey Coach was sold to a Scot who ran a hack outfit in Scotland and UK. This guy thought to dismantle the operation and not paying his drivers the pre-negotiated wages and proceeded to sell off the routes. The TTC never got the full purchase price as the outfit went broke. The TTC also owned the terminal on Bay street.

Stagecoach Holdings Ltd. was the company name. Stagecoach then sold Gray (or Grey?) Coach to Greyhound Lines of Canada and Ontario Northland Motor Coach Services in 1993. Gray Coach's Gray Line franchised sightseeing operations were taken over by Greyhound Lines of Canada.

Which is why. today, you can't get a coach that goes north of Peterborough.

Transit boondoggle unfolding before our eyes: James

It’s difficult to stomach anything the mayor says on the transit file.

I think under a Ford, he'll just abandon all hope and give up on public transit entirely. At least, under Tory, he is trying.

One good thing that came out from Ford is the community interest in transit, and other city problems, has increased tremendously.

In 2011, Ford came up with a transit plan that Metrolinx studied and found to be the best. That being the combined Eglinton-Scarborough Crosstown line.

In early 2012, City Council proudly announced that they took back transit planning from Ford. The Liberals worked in the background for a year or 2 as well. They hid reports from Council so they could not make educated votes. Then they openly came out as the subway champions. We as a City made the conscious decision to defeat Ford at any cost, so lets just pay because that was the plan from the start.

Brilliant, if all fails blame the Liberals for TO's transit mess
