So four media interviews for Rob today. Here's the list: :p

ETalks' Ben Mulroney-Rob's rehab advice for Lindsay Lohan
Marilyn Dennis Show-how to make the best banana smoothies
CP24-Mayor Ford does the weather forecast at 5:30 and 6:00
CBC's Dwight Drummond-how to lose 50 pounds in 60 days

Basic: After watching videos of some of RF's Canada Day appearances and after reading the Toronto Sun editorial asking for his resignation
I do agree that now is the time for RF to step down and allow Norm Kelly to assume the full title of Mayor of Toronto and spare the City the
sideshow that RF and his supporters now are playing up...To note that the Toronto Sun - which has been a staunch supporter of RF through
much of his problems - is now calling for his resignation is very significant and shows how much support that RF has lost outside of the "Ford
Nation" fanatics...With a widely supported strong Mayoral candidate that will hopefully emerge it will only ensure that RF does not have a chance
to get re-elected...Toronto will need to recover from the RF fiasco which many of Toronto's citizens agree has hurt the City over time...LI MIKE

Yeah, sadly there's zero chance of stepping down. Just, beyond zero.
I think his ballsiest political move would have been to do that Monday speech and then say all his junk about the gravy train BUT that he is resigning now. He's still running for re-election on Oct. 27 but, as a mea culpa, will step down for these last few months to concentrate on getting his life together so, come October, he will be in the best mental and physical shape of his life to fight for taxpayers etc.
Given that it's only a few months and nothing huge will come up at City Hall, it would have been a very easy sacrifice to lay at the feet of the voters but he (oh, and Doug!) are utterly incapable of seeing:
a) How well that would have played as PR
b) That sometimes you have to give something to get something

Despite all his talk about understanding his triggers etc. he cannot let go of the reins Mommy said were his to hold, and would rather hang on for dear life for these last pathetic months than do just one noble thing, gambling it will get them "Ford More Years." Obviously he should have resigned over a year ago, were he a normal person, but even doing it Monday would have shown some REAL understanding of what he's done to this city, while still allowing him to maintain campaign momentum (and effectively use his last turn at the mayoral podium to relaunch his campaign with vigor).

He's awesome but at the same time, the #rfmg sit-in has been doing what he did since February. Instead of people saying they hope this is the start of something, it would be great to see more people take some shifts and help us out. We need more people and ideally need 2 anchors or more at all times since the Fords are playing games with us.
True, but Shirtless Jogger got media attention. Sadly the sit-in hasn't got the same air time. Maybe it will now that Shirtless Jogger got angry and got some news-hour plays.

"No" Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly says he hasn't spoken to Mayor Rob Ford since he returned.

The sit-in is a great thing but it has NOT been doing what the shirtless jogger has been doing at all, which is to become a shiny thing that engages the media.

Whoa TJ, that's a really good idea that just might work. I hope the Ford bros are not checking into this forum!:)

Too late for that route now - he could have parachuted himself a month before the election but chose to coattail on Canada Day instead.

From his perspective - Why should he resign? It's not like he actually does any work, so really there is nothing to resign from... He views (and treats) his job as if it were an endless campaign.

I think you hit the nail on the head with point b. The Ford mayors have never ever been taught this point in their lives. Ultimately they are a pair of spoiled rich kids who were never told NO by their parents.

Mayor's spokesman says rob ford will be going in backdoor to committee room and won't take questions. #topoli #robford.

Backdoor Rob strikes again!

Your tax dollars at work Toronto. Ropes + extra security guards at executive meeting w Rob Ford. #topoli #robford

Definitely a hint of sarcasm there.

Those suck-holes, legitimizing the bastard! Royson James' article well taken now.

Doug displaying his usual dumb grin and Cynthia trying not to check out the guy's chest.

Looking at it again this morning, now the clip is sponsored and all. Yesterday, you could see it without the commercials. Going viral. Maybe a team of buff shirtless joggers of all persuasions, heckling at the next opportunity ? Could do wonders for our rep.
