Nah, Doug's constituent work mostly consists of acting faux Lord-of-the-Manor around the poors. Handing out twenties, shoving pizza in the faces of little kids, showing up to photo ops with a brand new unused chain saw.

Hard to imagine a councillor less useful than Rob Ford, but there it is....
 
Sometimes when a former councillor shows up at a council meeting to watch a current councillor will stand up on a point of personal privilege and announce that he or she is there and a round of applause will occur while they wave from the public gallery. I'd love for Doug to show up and be introduced by Mammoliti and there's absolutely no applause, total silence, councillors ignoring him. That would make my day :)

Ooops, ya missed promoting special fee exemptions and lobbying on behalf companies Deco's trying to get good with. He's not a racist about businesses close to his own interests, they're constituents too.

Could this be the END of an ERA? Doesn't sound like its going to be much of a shindig tonight. FordNation only comes for free burgers and beers, Doogie's unable to raise funds for a cheesy Mayoralty campaign, can't deliver support for a PCO leadership campaign and is probably going to have to eat the debt on his own campaign and is musing about taking on Bill Blair in Scarborough federally. Gotta wonder how much cash he and Diane are pouring into the Harper Party these days. All they've got left is the "political DNA" from poppa and Widdle Wobbie with his morphine drip and his catheter bog.
