Came across this beauty of an expedition ship - the two year old National Geographic Resolution - moored by Wiencke Island yesterday. With only 69 staterooms and the ability to break ice, I can't imagine how expensive this 10 day round trip cruise out of Usuhaia costs.

Zodiacs were used to shuttle passengers to see the penguins (visible in the photo below) on the mountain behind the ship

Not sure how that ship handles rough seas. I'm crossing the Drake passage right now in a much larger vessel and it is rolling pretty good.
 
Deception Island for those interested
These massive ice bergs broke off from the Antarctic ice shelf and ground to a halt on the seabed within the last couple of weeks according to the captain.

Most days it was around -1 to +4c. There were a few early mornings with a -10 windchill but nothing I wasn't accustomed to.

Behind the hospital is this hidden gem. Before the QEW, this 1909 bridge (Middle Road) carried traffic across the Etobicoke Creek.
