Anyone know what's going on with the outdoor signs? Why have they stopped installing them? Why the wait....???

Last week they put up a portion of the Tri-vision. I'm sure they are just waiting for an oppourtunity to shut down Yonge/Dundas and having weather conditions that comply. All that aside I wouldn't worry too much i don't think they will leave us hangin'.

A lot of the sign work has been done on weekends so perhaps this weekend we'll see more of the Tri Vision go up. The quicker they can cover up the south side the better.

I guess the next biggie is the central pillar sign. I'm crossing my fingers for a concave ad like originally planned.

In other news, the Adidas store stickers have gone up along the windows and they've cleaned things up quite a bit. It looks like interior work is going on. I wonder if we'll see the Adidas store open in time for the two weeks prior to Christmas which usually sees the heaviest shopping of the season.

I see a grand total of two people in that photo. They must be REALLY, REALLY cool dudes to make that scene qualify as "happening."

yeah i have to say, there is a tremendous amount of negativity toward this TLS. or at least metropolis. i mean how many cities have these media squares...NYC, London, Tokyo?....
so it ain't perfect. it ain't finished!
just let them get it done and then attack.

/\ I disagree. I feel that that center is of a completely different nature than TLS or Metropolis. Its a pedestrian only, low-rise, media-less (isn't that what this was all about in the first place?) conglomeration of buildings. The architecture is superior but as far as comparisons go, these two are totally different.

I hate America. You hate America. We like to be proud Canadians by demonstrating our hatred toward the United States. Hate based nationalism is our thing- that's why we watch the CBC and demand taxpayer support for our (with good reason) struggling Canadian artists (who hate materialism and commercialism but somehow demand commercial success for their own material gain.)

I hate America. I hate American companies. I hate American advertising. I hope there will be reasonable tax, let's say, 750%, on all advertising that promotes American companies. Further, because we are Canadian and have this great concern of the environment, we should have a tax to dissuade people from using electricity to promote commercialism- say, by taxing advertising that relies on any lighting or video image...I know, let's mandate that TLS use those supper dim LED lights for advertising- that way, TLS can be a beacon for the failure and ineffectiveness of environmentally friendly products!

Of course, I'm wiling to dismiss all those hate -based Canadian nationalists as shit talkers who charge for the border to shop in US outlet malls the moment the Canadian dollar climbs.

Perhaps TLS will be mercifully free of political correctness. Perhaps there without policies mandating quality control and message content from city hall. But, with this city hall, is that possible?
