this OM is dated from nearly a year and a half ago. can you expand upon your "according to urbandreamer..." comment?

This was posted 14 hours ago on urbandreamer's Twitter feed:

(Future) 1000 Bay St condo buyers, did you know a future condo project is likely coming next door--aka at 984 Bay St?
http://www.metcomrealty.com/pdfs/Bay_Street_984_Sale_July_29_-2010.pdf

On further thought, urbandreamer must have meant that 984 Bay has probably been sold, and is likely to be the site of another condo tower next door.

ah...cool, thanks Mongo. well in any event 984 Bay is too small a site for a tower at 6,000 sf envelope (and so close to an already approved site next door at 1000 bay) so urbandreamer's statement is incorrect and misleading.

aA, the real project website is now live http://www.1thousandbay.com/

To be marketed as 1ThousandBay--Condominiums on the Park

Looks gorgeous here, which is naturally why it's my latest RenderPornStar!

Is it my imagination..but in that first pic does it not show part of this proposed building already occupying that space (984 Bay) that is for sale.
If thats the case..this development will sooner or later ask for an extra 10 floors.

Looks nice, the evolution of the upper Bay Street canyon continues. Another sharp design by aA. Cresford has been one of the most improved developers in recent years, benefiting from hiring better architects.

don't think so Automation (what it does encompass, however, is the entire Bistro 990 site from what i can tell). i've been saying from the get-go that they'll be asking for an additional 10-15 at some point down the line though so stay tuned.

Hm, interesting. Looks sharp in this night render, I'd like to see what it looks like in the light though.

CASA is probably Cresford's most acclaimed building, so I imagine they will stick pretty close to that for awhile, doing slight variations.

Agreed, it's a little bit difficult to tell exactly what's going on. There is some variation in the balconies and it feels a little top-heavy to me, but a day rendering might clear that up.

Great for all you guys who get your rocks off to all these rinse and repeat boxes, but tedious for the rest of us, and the city. Keep this going and there will be an "aA Avenue" somewhere in Toronto, where clones of people walk among identical buildings in some kind of futuristic nightmare.

Well, if there's any street in Toronto that will be known as "aA Avenue" it's Bay. Aside from this project, aA projects on or off Bay Street include the Four Seasons, U Condos, Burano, Murano and Karma. That's a total of 9 towers.
