A Pool With A View
Published on 21-01-2011 by Skyscrapernews.com
Ever fancied going swimming in an infinity pool, above you only sky... and in front of you the CN Tower? Well soon if you're wealthy enough you'll be able to do exactly that in the Canadian city of Toronto.
Anchored in the city centre next to a PATH station, the proposals from Tridel for 300 Front Street West are for a 152 metre tall, 52 floor residential building diagonally opposite the CN Tower pitched very firmly at the luxury end of the market, and offering some impressive facilities for residents with a double height reception greeting them.
The tower design may be staid, and corporate with few external indications apart from the balconies suggesting its residential nature but within is another matter. Apartments will be lofts rather than condos with unpartitioned living areas, whilst the penthouses from floors 44 to 49 will boast 250 square metres of space and 3 metre ceilings plus a multi-million dollar price tag.
As well as the rooftop infinity pool that's orientated straight towards the CN Tower, there will be a selection of private cabanas on the sundeck, a Roman fountain, a lounge, a poker room, a communal dining room for grand dinners with friends, a billiards room, a party room, and a fully equipped gym.
On the corners of the tower at ground level will be two retail units, one bounding Front Street West and the other on John Street. Directly on the corner of these two roads will be a landscaped public space filling approximately a fifth of the total site area.
Apartments within 300 Front Street West are now on sale, and the developer has begun site preparation.
