I'm curious how the glass above the podium will transition to the tower?
Are there any other combinations that are as potentially visually jarring?
PS - end result on the tower part may be vertical banding similar to 11 YV, but I like the 11 YV colour scheme much better.

I have to say though, the tower portion cladding has thrown me for a loop...it wasn't what I was expecting. At all. But still, I'll hold judgement to see where they're all going with this...as I got a feeling there maybe more surprises in store here, for good or bad. I guess we shall see.

I'll take an awful looking tower any day if it means a great looking podium. The feel at street level is far more important than the floors above it.

'Tis true. Damnit. I guess it was too much to hope that the entire project would be uniformly excellent.
Maybe there'll be a pleasant surprise that will ameliorate some of that white starkness, but I suspect what we're seeing is what we'll get. The tower is suddenly reminding me of 300 Front St. W, and the contrast between it and it's well-done base is jarring.

I'm guessing the developer's thinking is, since the west and east elevations will be blocked by neighbouring towers in a couple of years, why spend good money unnecessarily? Mint green toothpaste doesn't belong on buildings though. It looks like sh*t.

That will be my Halloween costume this year - toothpaste green shirt/sweater with bronze-coloured pants. Only in the-know people will know I'm dressed as 88 Queen (hope Hariri Pontarini show up).

The cladding/mullion scheme of the tower is nice and clean , but the mullions and cladding should have been bronze instead.

I think the dark glass and white mullion/spandrel combo was a bad choice.
A lighter aqua glass tint would have actually suited the white mullions and aqua spandrel more, and not looked so garish.
In order for this black glass to work, it would need black or bronze spandrel and mullions.
This could have been achieved without spending more on the actual materials, just making sure that the colors ordered matched.
I don't think this city has a 'green glass' problem at all. We have an haphazard/mismatched mullion/spandrel problem. It boggles my mind how developers act as if they dont have the time to get this right, when the city endlessly delays approvals for projects.
