That's promising from afar; it just needs to look good up close too.

I haven’t been impressed by anything coming from 365 or Alter. With Alter, there’s a lot of disconnect between the various elements, especially when comparing the podium to the tower portion. I’ve turned most of my attention to the next two buildings going up a few blocks north.

The podium is atrocious.

First, I don't get what's so "atrocious" about the podium; I like the updated 60s vibe going on here:

The big thing here is the panels up top though, and I'm hoping what I seeing here (in the last photo) is Tridel and aA experimenting with them to find a type that is acceptable. The first batch that were put up are simply awful.

The furthest up in the last pic are the flattest… but I still think that they need to be full length sheets with no waist-height mullion of any kind. This could look great with the right product.

Second-from-the-bottom looks atrocious.

I'm with i42 on this one, I dig the ultra modernist podium and the clean boldness of the tower. It's not as overwhelming in person as it appears in some pictures. Also, building next to 365 is the architectural equivalent of hiring a hideously ugly person to walk around with you everywhere so you look better by comparison.

Concrete Pour Almost Complete at Alter

October 2017 Construction Update

The concrete pour is almost complete at the Alter community with the on-site team currently pouring the floor for the mechanical roof. The completion of the roof is tentatively scheduled for the end of October. Windows have been installed up to the 23rd floor, drywall is on the 14th floor, and tile and baseboard installations have started on the 7th floor.
