The machine shop has already been dismantled. You'll see in Red Mars' pic above that it's no longer there.

According to information from Adam Vaughan's office, an accommodation was reached between Toronto Hydro and the railway museum - the museum will have use of replacement space, as long as they do not set up permanent installations in the space. The museum can set up movable furniture, displays, etc., as long as the floor space can be cleared as required for service access to the equipment in the below ground areas.

Very good to hear!

Looking forward to the remantling of the machine shop once the work underground is complete.

Just thinking. We can build an electric transformer station 4 stories (30 m) below ground and have little issue with ground water/water table or flooding potential. Why is it so difficult to tunnel road or rail in the same area where the rationale is the ground water issues? I realize that a rail tunnel would be larger than a transformer facility + small network tunnel, but still...

I believe their facades are due to get a rather colourful renovation in the next few years

edit: my correction - it's the buildings further west, not these towers

That's good news! I hate the cladding on these ugly buildings but at least they offer some decent retail along Queen's Quay, so they do have some redeeming value.
