Given that this is Toronto, I am surprised they haven't blocked off the sidewalk anywhere near the dismantling-in-progress.
Since our last report in April, construction is now well underway to demolish and replace the aging Zeidler Partnerships Architects-designed pedestrian bridge above Queen Street which connects the Galleria of the Toronto Eaton Centre with the Hudson's Bay and Saks Fifth Avenue stores to the south. The new bridge is designed by UK-based architects Wilkinson Eyre and the project itself is developed by mall owner Cadillac Fairview.
It would be nice if they can conveniently knock down a few of those rusty lampposts while they're removing the old bridge.

They're going to have to remove those posts. It's already a tight fit turning a finished bridge into position without having light poles in the way.
Hopefully they've figured this out with the city who isn't going to put back the old poles and can install new ones since they're way past overdue for replacements.
