No idea why concrete hasn't been pour for the north end like the south end. Will there be no Right Turn on Red at this intersection??

Pouring the road base under the tracks before the tracks can sit on it as well level before forming can take place to anchor the tracks in place.

I understand that they're centre platforms and that's why the tracks are so far apart at the intersections, but somehow it just seems strange to me--is that really the best use of space? I guess it's different at least than Eglinton and Finch. Those are all side platforms on the street aren't they?

Platforms are located where it makes sense to do so, from a space standpoint.

Both Eglinton and Finch West have island platforms and side platforms where needed.

If you look at the corridor built today, the tracks are the same distance apart between stations as they are at the stations. You will notice 4 curbs between the tracks that will see shrubs and flowers.

The Road ROW north of the CP overpass to just north of Steeles is for a 9 lanes road or a highway as per an 1980 report I came upon a few decades ago.

Lots of ducting been place up to Burnhamthorpe the still require the relocation of the hydro pole in the turming lane Island to the point it will be bury for the intersection.

I'm very curious how the Hurontario line will perform, especial compared to Eglinton and Finch. How will their transit priority work? How fast will they actually end up being versus buses and also versus subways? Ultimately, was it worth it or should we have spent this money on subways instead which would not be able to achieve as extensive coverage as all the LRTs we're building?

Plan on walking to Sq One to do a few things before heading somewhere else until I hit Hurontario. Since it was a nice day as well having time, did a walking tour before hitting Sq One.

403
Southbound lanes open from the 403 overpass to just north of Burnhamthorpe Rd. Construction of the overpass has moved to the northbound with the 403 been reduce to a single lane nightly for the last week and rest of this week to do the formwork.

Lot of pile of foam blocks on the northside for the north pier area. Work is underway for the south pier area with dirt being removed to allow the building of the pier.

2 workers were placing rebar in the elevated forms next to Hurontario.

4 workers working on Rathburn ramp area where 2 sections that were been form last week have been pour. 60% of the retaining wall is now formed.

Sq One Dr to Burnhamthorpe Rd.
Backfilling is underway where the south ramp is to go as well where the guideway will cross Sq One Dr/Hurontario

The rail being off load last week has been spliced into long sections.

The centre area from Sq One to Burnhamthorpe has been excavated using a milling machine that I haven’t seen been used for the guideway to date. They were having issues with it north of Robert Speck.

Was told the city is calling for work to install tracks for the intersections starting in Jan/Feb to be held off until the spring as there are issues for the snowplows where construction is taking place. It’s the first time I have heard of this issue and will have to inquire about it as it will delay the project even more if true.

Been told by a few trades they will be on site until late Q1 of 2025.

Burnhamthorpe to Central Parkway
The northbound lane where the curb must be built is now covered up to protect the area until the curb is poured. Only a few locations still seeing major work. Once poured paving can take place to allow traffic to use it so the centre guideway can be built.

Saw a few holes in the sidewalk for the west side last week by a future development site and thought it had to do with the creek that runs under Hurontario as well the south end of the property. It turns out it was for tall hydro pole that are been relocated from the east side to the west side of Hurontario. This will keep all the new hydro poles on one side of the street from Brampton to the QEW at this time. It will allow the removal of Burnhamthorpe hydro wires over Hurontario, and place underground as well remove the pole in the island for the eastbound lanes so it can be removed.

It the first time I am hearing that there is a Sept completion date considering it has been the end of the year for the last 2 years. If there is an Sept date, it reinforced my comments to date that the line will not be ready by year end. The good weather so far is saving their beacon to get work done sooner and faster for this time of the year.

Got a noticed to today saying guideway and trackwork will start in January to December between Eglinton and the QEW. 18 intersections will have to see partly closure to build the guideway for them as well 5 others that will see full closure. Unless there is to be an single lane going northbound from Central Parkway to Burnhamthorpe, the earliest I can see work staring on the guideway for this are is mid-late January.

Since it wasn't raining, took a walk to Dundas to do some shopping elsewhere along doing some shooting, decided to have a close look at the corridor.

Northbound curb has been poured from Fairview to Central Parkway with 2 haft of the driveways still need to be pour. All work from Central Parkway to Burnhamthorpe has been completed and ready to see the curb pour for it. Once done, paving will take place to allow traffic to be shift to it so work can start on the guideway starting at Burnhamthorpe.

Looks like the work south of Fairview for the northbound is nearing completion with some large pipe work still to be install near the CP bridge. The shoring for the southbound lane still say an retaining wall to be built from the CP bridge to south of Fairview since the sidewalk is way higher than the road.

The fencing on the westside is finally completed and is wrapped like the eastside.. More fencing/sound barrier wall is up with more to be built for the eastside.

No idea what is to happen in the northbound lanes from John St to Dundas as it still block off with some equipment sitting there.

The old GO parking lot that has been used as a storage area has jersey barriers across the driveway as well fence off as there area fair number of heavy equipment sitting there for the holidays.
