Those expanses of brick above the ground floor should have a more interesting to them- an three-dimensional pattern would be better than the flat expanses of brick we have now.

Request for directions report on this went to Community Council last week. Planning is generally happy with the height and massing, but staff have outstanding technical concerns respecting accessible parking spaces and the proposed reconfiguration of this short stretch of Logan. Fletcher stirred the pot a bit at TEYCC, getting a motion passed to forward the item to Council without recommendations, and asking that staff report directly to Council on the status of those issues, as well as for providing car share spaces and plug-ins for electric cars.

The OMB hearing is scheduled to start end of May.

At its meeting last week, Council voted to send its staff to the LPAT hearing at the end of May to support this project. Fletcher also got Council to approve the following recommendation:

"City Council direct the Chief Planner and Executive Director, City Planning to report to the Toronto and East York Community Council on the installation of two dedicated car share service locations and two electric vehicle plug in stations as well as any opportunities for Green P parking on Logan Avenue between Gerrard Street East and Dundas Street East."

Fletcher must have a location along Logan in mind for Green P parking and plug-in stations. Not sure where along that stretch, though.

Hopefully, this thing gets approved at the end of this month, the developer is diligent about getting site plan approval, and we can say goodbye to the surface parking lot/Beer Store soon.

My mother lives near by and so I pass by every regularly. They seem to be moving very fast with this project. It's a bit disappointing that there will still be at-grade parking, but it can't be worse than the big lot by the beer store previously.
