The crane by the bridge is a 350 ton crane and the end being held by a 400 ton crane. The north end was still not on the support as they were having some issues joining the 2 sections together.
In 2022, once the bridge is one piece, barges will be float to the slip wall where ramps will be place onto the barges over the slip wall. The movers will then move the bridge and climb onto the barges to place the bridge into position onto all the piers.
Both join section will be enclose all around so welding can take place in a heated area to weld everything together.
Thanks for sharing, Looks like the southern leg of New Cherry St will be open to cyclists and pedestrians by May 2022 and all of New Cherry St to cyclists and pedestrians by August 2022. Commissions street is also set to open by August 2022. Not sure if cars are included and not mentioned or if their opening is later for New Cherry St & Commissioners.
The rumour - which I am starting now - is that it is being barged east to Halifax / Dartmouth where it will, butterfly-like, be transformed into the next WT bridge.

I don't see on the current construction stutus that they have started work on this Keating Channel bridge, is this for cars or is this a walking/cycling bridge?
