Of course any funding announcement they make now means next to nothing unless the conservatives get re-elected. The trick will be getting the Liberals or NDP to make those same commitments.
There's no reason to believe that any government would back out of plans for this: the Port Lands simply won't happen without this infrastructure spending, and Toronto has to have this area in shape eventually to continue growing.
