Overpriced gourmet cookies are a thing in this town - why don't I open up a shop? I'm so bored of the corporate bullshit job I have...
Are you implying that $4.50 for one cookie might be overpriced?

Lots of folks lining up for the new Crumbl cookies at the Well. A true Torontonian experience!

I don't get it either.

But I'm a bit of an outlier, I won't line up (in a line of any significance) for much of anything. Not for a concert, a new store or restaurant or to get into Wonderland........shrug. There will be a time I can go when I don't have to wait, and I can wait for that.

****

On the subject of cookies specifically......... in just pure 'basic' cookies, no one has had it right in this town since Felix and Norton whose cookies were 50% butter, and 40% sugar (not an exact recipe quote, LOL). They were insanely rich, decadent and made with good ingredients, not generic chocolate chip cookie dough mixed with M&Ms .....

Also, if you want to charge me anything like $3 a cookie, never mind over $4......you better make me something that takes as least as much effort as a Macaron........I expect feathery honeycomb wafers, with brilliant icing/cream/filing and a coating of the finest Callebaut chocolate ganache..........or go away and come back when you know what you're doing.

I so miss Felix & Norton cookies. So soft and melty, the white chocolate macadamia was my favourite. There's apparently still a store somewhere in Markham? I'm not sure if it's still the same, has anyone tried them?

I have fond memories of them dating back to the late 1980s, but that's all in my wheat-filled past. It is still possible to order them online, including the white chocolate macadamia ones, at felixandnorton.com.
