It is a good idea, but what it does to traffic is disastrous. You've got Lakeshore meeting with an exit off the Gardner meeting with people coming up from Queen's Quay and south from Bay street all trying to get east--and all of this involves a 1 or 2 lane merge once you get onto the Lakeshore, especially since so many people want to head north on Yonge and you need to move over to the left to do so.

It's ridiculous.

Wasn't this made worse by the fact that the city changed 2 turning lanes up Yonge to just 1?

I also think it'll be less of a problem when the Yonge/Bay/york ramp gets torn down and that offramp traffic isn't leading right into that space in front of the building. That ramp is for Yonge drivers but it's on the opposite side of the single lane leading to Yonge.

My one problem with the area out front is that the pedestrian walking area is really bad around the garage entrance/exit. Most people want to walk from Second Cup across the side opposite the garage entrance/exit, but there isn't room for pedestrians and two lanes of cars. There's a little pedestrian walk on the entrance/exit side, but it's dangerous as cars cannot see people coming when they're exiting.

Of course, what is the Pinnacle Centre was previously supposed to have been an office development called the World Trade Centre.
