Funny to remember talk a few years ago about the Lightbox building being exceptional and not necessarily precedent-setting for the area. It's literally spawning clones!

Our turn to talk a look at the project...

Cool shot, but what on earth is going on with the Don Cherry sign in the bottom left?

I think it is a commentary on fighting in hockey and how Don Cherry viciously defends it. A group of former players filed a lawsuit against the NHL due to lingering mental health issues from years of repeated head injuries, and Cherry called it a "money grab", to much criticism. The three hockey players that committed suicide (Derek Boogaard, Rick Rypien and Wade Belak) were all "goons" in the NHL (fighters, thugs, whatever you want to call it) that clearly took several hits to the head in their careers.

Now back to Pinnacle!

It still baffles me how height works in this city. They thought it made sense to have 3 buildings of the same height, style, color to be built next to each other. Bravo! Bravo!

Cinema Tower's podium pops nicely in that first pic with Pinnacle as a backdrop. Looking forward to the day when the actual street is rebuilt though. It's a wreck.
