Sorry, not true, Alvin, they just refused 280 Jarvis in the preliminary report. Same thing happened to 100 Davenport and 1 Scollard. I'm really surprised about this one too, based on 280 (the 280 consultation still happened, despite the refusal report—and the people at that meeting an hour ago were far more receptive of it than they are of this one).

There's not a chance they'll get 50 storeys here. Someone at the meeting asked the developer how short it would have to be to not shadow Allan Gardens, and their answer was "around 30 storeys". Those living beside it still did not like the sound of that, but they may end up having to deal with something around that height.

You gotta admit, it looks sweet. Oh well. I guess y'all are right, it'll land somewhere in the 30 story zone.

It could look good at 50 storeys elsewhere, like further north, closer to Bloor Street. Just not here, shadowing Allan Gardens.

Hell no, nice try with that fin de siecle look though - that north facade is going to look anything but charming - you'd be lucky if you get PACE.

If the north wall were to be curtain wall, they might have something here.

Anyway, the building looks like a Foster loaf, with the crust having been cut off the north side.
