Fingers crossing for the space getting a significant park, paid entirely by the private sector, even if it means a few more residential buildings.
It's a mess there with traffic already. With the Well and this the infrastructure is not there to support 5k+ units all going through Front
Also this developer has not built anything before so it is clear it is created to negotiate with the city. How can they build 10 buildings with that experience?
They're just trying to make it more expensive for the city to acquire, which eventually will come out of all of our pockets one way or another

Chances are they would sell the site to a more established developer for big bucks, should the legal proceedings go to their favour.

You're right, probably, either to a developer who can actually build or to the city for more money

You have to view it on Youtube directly:

The instructions for that are right in the notice, too...sorry, it was long rough night. Should of seen that from the get go.

...but thanks for pointing that out.

And, oh wow!! 😮

It's a nice bit of science fiction.
No, it's plausible...with likely the right kind of engineering and money. But in the end, we'll unlikely ever see anything like that, assuming if this project ever agreed upon. So it's less likely than Biden taking Texas...so more of a pipe dream, IMO. >.<

Exactly. There's nothing in this that's not feasible from an engineering standpoint, but there's zero economic justification for the eye-watering amount of money it would take to build all those sky-bridges, winter gardens, rock-climbing walls and fountains. And since we live in a place and time that only cares about economic justifications (to the exclusion of niceties like placemaking, culture, or, y'know, the moral imperative of ensuring everyone's basic human needs are met) this falls squarely in the realm of fantasy along with hundred-foot tall walls of ice built to keep out snow zombies.

Unlike the City's Rail Deck Park, which is totally plausible. 🤣
Yes

City's rail deck park is what it is...just a park...
You think it's more feasible to see a 10 building Marina Bay Sand - esque on top of active rail from a developer incorporated in 2018 that has never built a single building?

Hope LPAT squashes this fast
