I wouldn't exactly call it a "fin"... there's just a gap in between the glass running down the entire side of the building so it looks like a fin...

Think it may end looking more like Citibank in NYC. A dramatic sloping roof...but not really fin-ish.

The slant is very minor for each individual floor. It's the incremental accumulation of slants that give it the impression of a higher degree. I don't think one will notice much of a slant on any particular window.

On the contrary, I'll guarantee that you'd be able to notice the slant. Look at the first row of slanting windows in the second image in the previous post (that has images). That floor's pane of glass visibly shows the slant, and while standing inside you'd be able to peek over the edge of the floor slab by getting close enough to the window.

That's an Egotrippin Guarantee

Here's some photos I took YESTERDAY (MONDAY) of the Ritz...

Now Ritz MANIA!!!

For these first 2 shots... I took them from John street... A new perspective I guess :)

Enjoy :)

^^^ Great pictures steveve!

Re the slant, holding up a cheap protractor to some of the side pictures, it appears to be about 3 degrees. Presumably, only people like professional sports stars will be able to afford units there. The tallest Raptors are about 2 metres. Therefore the window will jut out about 10 centimetres (2m*tan(3d)) at eye height. If it was 5 degress, it would be 17.5 cm.

I'm going to use this point to my advantage; sticking your head 10cm over a high drop would definitely be enough to produce the sensation of leaning over a significant drop.

Hopefully someone I know will purchase a unit here, or rather, are any of the slanted window rooms hotel suites?

Each storey on south side extends 168 millimetres out from the storey below. The angle works out to be about 6 degrees! By the 51st storey, the building will be 4.5 metres wider than at the 26th storey.

Standing in front of the glass does not create a sense of angle (perhaps because glass is invisible??), but it's the slightly angled mullions that create a definite sense of "whoa...what the heck"

Did they straighten the mullions on the interior? Like 5 inches wider at the top than the bottom, to keep the inside face plumb? It's going to look weird if they didn't, because any kind of window coverings are going to hang really screwy against the sloped glass.

That's a good point. The mullions are the same depth from ceiling to floor and as a result angled. Window coverings need to be stepped back at the top so they don't bump into the bottom.

Here's a comparison of the Ritz over the past month or so...

I took all of these photos from roughly the same spot...
