No problem Steveve!

I wonder if you'll become the early twenty-teens version of c.2002/03's MrManTO? (Yeah, I've been a member since 02 as well...;)) Whatever happened to that guy? He was obsessed (in his teens iirc) with Toronto construction.

I haven't seen anything suggesting it, but I really hope that zipper feature gets some soft LED lighting. I think it would look awesome lit up in a soft white

He moved to florida, iirc. Jacksonville, or therearbouts.

I went up the CN Tower today and I spend a long time looking at the Ritz and other buildings currently going up, and I realized that regardless of what colour these buildings are presented as in the renderings, they always turn out to be green glass.

The Ritz is looking very green condo as the glass crawls up.

There really should be a ban on green condos. Sounds absurd, but it will change things up a bit.

It was an overcast day. Not the greatest type of lighting for looking at the colour of glass used in buildings, as everything kind of ends up looking similar.
Ritz glass is green?

Sometimes it looks quite blue, like in the renderings:

Still, I agree that there's too much glass on this block.

Glass is good but I'd like to see a little more balance with precast buildings such as Uptown, West Harbour City, Trump, London on the Esplanade, One St. Thomas etc.
I would agree there's way too many ugly, glassy, green highrise monsters downtown but thankfully that's evolving with the newer CityPlace buildings, Casa, Telus, Ritz (argue that one all you want), Festival Tower, Murano, Bay Adelaide, Blu, X and so forth. Luckily many of those 25-35 storey beasts will be overshadowed by the Telus's, Ritz's, Muranos, Casa's and others as the next few years unfold. Ritz is appearing to offer the best of both worlds along with (surprise), great design and good materials.

October 10 Pictures

Thanks for those sketches steveve. It's nice to get a feel for how it will look when done!

Here are some pictures from today.

1. St. Andrew's Church frames the Ritz perfectly from the northeast corner of King and University. I'm sure this will become a popular photo location once it is all done.
