And it is an entirely seperate company from all his development companies. Besides, his casino entities have gone bankrupt and 'restructuring' more times than there have been rumours on this board about this particular project being cancelled (yes, a lot of times).

Lewis Builds leads Trump tower construction

Work is ongoing for the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Toronto, Ont. Developer Talon International Development Inc. along with construction manager Lewis Builds Corp. have completion of the 60-storey project with over 200 hotel suites and 118 condominium units scheduled for spring 2011. The tower will also have a five-star restaurant, a spa, gym, a conference centre and ground level parking. The project was designed by Zeidler Partnership Architects. Consultants are: Halcrow Yolles (structural); Hidi Rae Consulting Engineering Inc. (mechanical/electrical); II by IV Design (interior); and Starr Landscape Inc. Subtrades include: Aro Excavating Ltd.; Associated Structures Ltd. (formwork/foundation/precast concrete); Torsteel Co. Ltd. (structural steel); Limen Group Ltd. (masonry); OZZ Corp. (electrical); Vipond Inc. (sprinklers); Far East Aluminum Canada Corp. (exterior/glass/glazing); and Otis Canada Inc. (elevators).

Either way there are a countless # of people who have spread rumors about this project - UD is actually a newbie to the Trump rumor spreading regime :-D
Anyway, to be completely honest - I think rumors will exist until this project is completely topped out (whether they're valid or not is another story). Just take in all the fun while it last

Noticed walking by today that they've got the rebar up for the second floor columns along the north side. Kind of strange to see it poking up above the hoarding now.
I also realized for the first time how much of an impact the building is going to have. Because the streets and sidewalks are so narrow you can't really help but be overwhelmed by it. Even at 25 feet high it's already blocking views and hiding buildings.

I agree, it will have a very large presence. Someone posted earlier (maybe in the BAC Forum) that this will be one dense intersection. I couldn't agree more. It will be interesting to see how this building plays off against the BAC across the street. BAC has columns and glass and a somewhat "light" feeling at street level right now. This building may have a much "heavier" feeling, at least at the corner (similar to the other two buildings on this intersection), but it may feel somewhat open and less massive further east and south given the double height ground floor and the parking, loading and reception entrances. Time will tell.
On the activity front, I've been watching with interest the second floor decks being poured this week. There is more activity going on "up top" than is visible from street level.

Wow thanks for the update! Been waiting to see one as it's been a while since we've had a good update on this one. Considering the size of this one, you'd think we'd be getting daily updates haha.

A lot of people are probably still stuck on the won't go up phase, and are ignoring its existence completely. "If I don't acknowledge its progress, it mustn't be going up."
