I swear, there are some who would rather Toronto be a skyline of architectural pornstar manhood, instead of being a functional, livable city. I prefer the latter.

Addendum: You'll note that 432 Park Avenue is on two of those lists, and it's NYC's second tallest.

Yeah, just think of all those shit cities like London and Barcelona that don't have any tall heritage landmarks to lift the overall calibre of architecture in the city -- they suck!

Forget "megatalls", many geeks remain obsessed with those few feet/metres that anoint the city with a "supertall" patch on our sleeve. The CTUBH invented/much debated "creation" of supertall is annoying because it distracts from good buildings vs not so good (and spire vs antenna etc).

Yes we've had a pile of misses (verses wins) but I like some of what has been/will built. It's tough to be geek when one is disappointed but it's cool to even have the conversation. Tall fellows with great design, cladding and street presence are always a thrill. Some towns got nutin' much to look forward to.

"Toronto will be great when it's finished" ... source the quote please (not Peter Ustinov).
 
Is it me or does the picture in the article look more silver than gold? Did they change the colour of the building?
 
Judging by his demeanor in the pics and nothing else...this isn't getting built guys. Time to close this thread up :p
