Would be sweet if Novotel and the city could work with Amacon to build a new Novotel in Parkside Village, and then have Novotel turn over their existing hotel for development to Amacon.

How was this approved? I really don't get it, Mississauga having all these consultations regarding improving the downtown core, and then approving garbage like this.

It was approved before all of the recommendations were made.

I've seen several different 3D models or renderings in papers and such, but they pretty much all include a new development on that corner where the PetroCan is, in front of Novotel. Whether it's a new Novotel tower or office building, that is considered a prime location for something high profile.

The Petro Canada used to have signs up by the city on both corners for rezoning. It was to be a restaurant with the gas station. A gas station does not belong on that corner at all. Not to mention how dangerous it is to have people pulling in and out at such a busy intersection.

This shows how close the office building is to the parking garage for Widesuites.

You'll also note the difference between my photos and drum118's is that the crane has been changed out.
