I used to live in the area and that stretch of Yonge Street really isn't the most pleasant (Soudan to Eglinton). I hope there are plans to make it more hospitable, given the densities. Maybe it'll get better once Canada One is redeveloped
 
Walking by the site this morning, it is amazing how bad the wind tunnel is immediately approaching Yonge Street.

It can be calm walking along Soudan and the moment you walk into the sidewalk adjacent to Art Shoppe you are blasted by strong winds.

seriously, the wind tunnel is one of the biggest culprits especially on cold days. Car traffic makes this section feel like a highway too
